Financial help for families with young children

TANF, South Carolina’s welfare program, provides temporary financial assistance to families with dependent children who are in need.

TANF recipients may also be eligible for support services like child care and transportation while working or participating in job training.

Families can apply in any of these ways:

• In person at a county Department of Social Services (DSS) office
• By mail or fax
