Empowering parents to better care for children

In-home family support specialists visit pregnant mothers and families with children prenatally up to age 3. Each family’s coach helps parents promote children’s social-emotional well-being and school readiness.

Coaches focus on building confidence, helping parents achieve goals and see how they can provide safe and nurturing homes for children. Services are based on each family’s specific situation and last at least three years, with weekly visits from supportive home visitors to start.

Healthy Families America programs are available throughout South Carolina from a variety of partners, with a blend of state, federal, and local funding.
