Help with medical bills

Adults and children in low income households may qualify for help paying medical bills. South Carolina’s Medicaid program is called Healthy Connections. You must apply to find out if you’re eligible, and pregnant women and families with children who need medical care are encouraged to apply.

South Carolina resumed the annual Medicaid eligibility review process beginning April 1, 2023. While Medicaid members began receiving notices and review forms in April 2023, the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services expects to take 12 months to complete the process. Visit apply.scdhhs.gov to update your contact information, check your Medicaid review status and submit your review when it’s time to renew.
